Game Preview
The Philadelphia 76ers and Portland Trail Blazers run it back Sunday night. Final meeting of the season. Tip at 6 p.m. ET inside Xfinity Mobile Arena.
Last time these teams saw each other? A track meet. Portland ran Philly off the floor, 135–118, back on Feb. 9. Third quarter turned ugly fast. Blazers hung 49 points on the Sixers in that frame alone. Game flipped right there.
And the unlikely villain? Toumani Camara. Kid went nuclear. Career night. Dropped 30 and barely missed from deep — 8-for-10 beyond the arc. Every time Philly tried to inch back, Camara answered with another triple. Crowd killer stuff.
Different night now. Different energy. But the memory of that third-quarter avalanche is still hanging around.
What Shape Are the Blazers In?
Portland rolling into the road trip
The Blazers come in feeling decent. Friday night they handled the Utah Jazz, 124–114. Ball moved. Shooters spaced the floor. Typical Portland rhythm when things are clicking.
But the roster isn’t whole.
Damian Lillard is sidelined with left Achilles injury management. No Dame changes everything. Less pull-up gravity. Less late-clock bailout offense.
And the injuries keep stacking:
- Robert Williams III : questionable (left knee management)
- Shaedon Sharpe : out (fibula stress reaction)
So yeah. Portland’s depth chart is getting a workout.
Sixers Playing the Back-to-Back Game Again
Why does Philly actually like these spots?
Saturday afternoon the Sixers ground out a 104-97 win over the Brooklyn Nets. Not pretty. But effective. Defense tightened late, and Philly closed it like a veteran group.
Now comes the tricky part: second night of a back-to-back.
Normally that screams tired legs. Not here.
Philadelphia has been weirdly good in this exact situation 10-3 in the second game of back-to-backs this season. Even crazier? They’ve won nine of the last 10 in that spot.
So the usual fatigue narrative… not really holding up.
Key Player to Watch: Quentin Grimes
Quiet heater in March
Quentin Grimes caught fire Saturday.
Season-high-tying 28 points against Brooklyn. Shot looked loose. Confident. Catch-and-shoot threes, hard drives, a couple tough midrange pull-ups.
And it’s not a one-off. Grimes now has three 20-plus games in March. When his jumper is falling, Philly’s spacing opens up quick.
If Portland collapses the paint Sunday, expect Grimes to get plenty of looks on the perimeter.
Philly’s Home Stretch
Xfinity Mobile Arena has been friendly lately
The Sixers have quietly handled business at home.
They’re 4-1 in their last five games at Xfinity Mobile Arena. That stretch started with a 124-117 win over the Miami Heat back on Feb. 26.
Crowd’s been loud. Role players shoot better. Standard home-court stuff. But it’s mattered during this late-season playoff push.
Game Night Notes
Women’s Empowerment Night
Sunday’s game also doubles as Women’s Empowerment Night, highlighting the impact of women in sports, leadership and community initiatives across the organization.

The Big Question
Can Philly avoid another third-quarter collapse?
That Feb. 9 loss still sticks out. Forty-nine points allowed in a single quarter. Defensive rotations late. Transition defense nonexistent.
If the Sixers tighten the pick-and-roll coverage and run shooters off the line, this game looks very different.
But if Portland’s wings start bombing threes again?
Well… we’ve already seen how that movie ends.
